We had a great turnout for our first PTO meeting of the year; the teachers, parents, and kids who showed up crunched through nearly 4 Polito’s pizzas!
The 19 PTO memebers who attended yesterday talked through a lot of different topics. We reviewed this year’s PTO budget, focused on changes from last year based on school community feedback. We discussed the three PTO committees we will have again this year – Family Engagement, Fundraising, and the Race for Education committees – and passed around signup sheets for those interested. If you were unable to attend but are interested in helping out in one of those groups, please just send us a quick email! The group also talked about the best ways to thank the Raising for Risers supporters, and finally there was some brainstorming about possible family engagement activities for this coming year. We decided we’ll definitely host another Fall Festival and choose Tuesday October 27th as the date.
