PTO Officer Elections next week!

The final PTO meeting of the 2025-2026 school year will be next Monday; the last meeting of the year is always a big one, as we set the budget for next year and have elections for two of our officer positions.  This year the President and Secretary roles are open for election.  PTO officers are elected for a two year term; some of the responsibilities of those roles include:

PTO President
  • Lead PTO meetings: Plan agendas and facilitate the meetings themselves
  • Work closely with the school principal
  • Coordinate PTO officers and committees: Help the vice president, secretary, treasurer, and committee chairs stay informed and on track
  • Oversee events and fundraisers: Support planning for events like family nights, teacher appreciation, and fundraisers
  • Encourage parent involvement
  • Monitor goals and budget awareness: Help ensure PTO activities align with the group’s mission and approved budget
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
PTO Secretary
  • Take meeting minutes: Record accurate notes during PTO meetings, including decisions made, votes, and action items
  • Prepare and share meeting minutes
  • Maintain PTO records: Keep important documents organized, such as bylaws, meeting notes, event records, and contact lists.
  • Track attendance: Keep a record of who attends meetings and events
  • Assist with meeting agendas: Work with the PTO President to help prepare agendas for upcoming meetings.
  • Support officer transitions: Help keep files and records ready for future PTO officers to ensure smooth leadership changes.
