We had a great turnout for the first PTO meeting of the year! Unfortunately we forgot to start the hybrid meeting, so if you tried to join and couldn’t we’re sorry! If you did miss the meeting you can find our meeting minutes here!
Our major topics of discussion:
- Reviewing teacher responses to a PTO questionnaire about how to best help them and Washington school.
- Reviewing our ’25-’26 budget, and discussing some larger goals/purchases the PTO could make this year.
- Forming new committees! We’ve started three committees this year to provide avenues for parents and teachers to get directly involved with the PTO and remove some work done directly by officers in years past. Those groups include:
- Events Committee: for creating and volunteering at various events at Washington Elementary
- Fundraising Committee: to help raise money for the PTO in various ways: restaurant fundraisers, grant applications, etc.
- Race for Education Committee: since this event is the largest and biggest fundraiser of the year, we wanted to have a separate committee devoted to organizing and running it.
- If you’re interested in joining one of these committees and couldn’t make it last Monday, just shoot us an email and we’ll get you hooked up. Thanks!
We wrapped up the meeting after just an hour and five minutes, and we hope to see everyone at the next meeting, October 20th!
